Clodagh Thornton is a fith generation Dubliner, born and bred. She has always had a focus and a concern for nature and the environment. She studied fine art at the Dun Laogaire College of Art and Design and etching at the Hammersmith Collage of Art. A founder member of Artcore. Her work may be seen in private collections in Ireland, Spain, Germany and the United States
She has collaborated with Spanish artist Saturio Alonso on numerous projects, including "An Exact Sience", and "Garran", the most recent of which was grant-aided by the Arts Council Of Ireland and was held in Siamsa Tire Tralee.
Clodagh is currently working in Andalucia drawing inspiration from the extensive examples of Arte Rupestre to be found in that region. Her most recent exhibition was held in 2006 in Jimena de la Frontera, Cadiz.
Clodagh's most frequently used materials in her artwork are oil paint, canvas, paper, carborundum, copper and etching materials.
